The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a first of its kind innovation adopted in 2006 by the Human Rights Council (HRC) to complement the works of treaty bodies. Data and facts presented in this book were drawn exclusively from national reports, UN reports and reports submitted to the HRC according to United Nations General Assembly Resolution 60/251.
